The 11th Annual “PAL Golf Tournament" -- PAL’s main fundraiser --was a huge success. We want to thank all of our sponsors, players, and volunteers who helped to make the day a memorable one. The Tournament was held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura. This year we managed to raise in excess of $35,000. This money goes a long way in funding positive activities for our local youth to counteract the risk factors often present in their daily lives. Players had an opportunity to win cars, awards, and cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to over $250,000, through various “Hole In One”, putting contest, and other specialty holes. Speaking of Hole In One, congratulations to Bob Thompson of Bay Alarm Company in Ventura. He sunk a hole in one to win a two-year lease on a new BMW from Steve Thomas BMW. This is the second time in four years a contestant has sunk a hole in one and won a car at the PAL Tournament. In 2004 a contestant was awarded a new car from the Ventura Auto dealer’s Association. The Tournament kicked off at 1:00 PM and was a fun filled day of golf, prizes, and great food with lunch provided by Tommy’s Burgers. Upon conclusion of the Golf Tournament players were treated to an Awards ceremony and more food, this time provided by Cronie’s Sports Grill of Ventura. Additionally, players received raffle prizes and had an opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items. If you would like to take part in the tournament for next year, please give us a call or come back to this site in the near future to download and fill out an entry or sponsorship form. We anticipate having the 2009 information on this site shortly after the New Year. Our goal for 2009 will be to raise $40,000 but we won’t get there without your generous support. We look forward to your continued support and involvement next year. Once again, thank you to all of our sponsors, players, contributors, and volunteers. |
